22 APRIL 2016:<\/strong> Returned to Sedona for a weekend out on the trails with a Barlow Adventures<\/a> Jeep. Started off on the west side with a relaxing run on Mingus Mountain, enjoying the perfect weather and some solitude in the backcountry.

17 APRIL 2016:<\/strong> Finished up the day with a review of the recovery options we will have on hand in Mongolia. While none of the Overland Experts<\/a> expedition vehicles will be equipped with a winch, we will have hi-lift jack, static and dynamic straps, and Maxtrax on hand. The terrain should not be that challenging and hopefully we will not need to spend too much time on recovery in the field.

17 APRIL 2016:<\/strong> Day Two of training with the Overland Experts<\/a> team focused on driving skills and contingency scenarios as we continued to review for Mongolia. The field exercises were supplemented with informal briefings on terrain and road conditions from team members who have already been working in-country.

16 APRIL 2016:<\/strong> A great weekend of training with the Overland Experts<\/a> team at their CT facility was also an opportunity to meet some of the other members of the upcoming expedition. In addition to refreshing our off-road driving, convoy management and basic vehicle recovery skills, we were able to discuss the mission in greater detail, learn more about the proposed route, the vehicles and the work of the Mongolian Bankhar Dog Project<\/a>, the NGO we will be supporting during this expedition.
