Got to explore some new trails and learned more about the geology of this amazing landscape, while getting a good work out with map, compass and terrain assessment challenges. 19 FEBRUARY 2016:<\/strong> A diverse group of women came together at the Imperial Sand Dunes to train, share information, and get to know one another in a unique informal weekend event organized by Nena Barlow of Barlow Adventures<\/a>. Rebelle Rally<\/a> founder Emily Miller shared insights into the new rally and helped participants work on their navigational skills, while Barlow coached the group on driving techniques, terrain assessment and more. The weekend provided a preview of the spirit of the new rally, as women with different experiences and skills worked together, helping each other grow. ABOUT ANZA BORREGO<\/strong>

\nAnza Borrego Desert state park<\/a> is California’s largest state park encompassing more than 600,000 acres. Running about 25 miles east to west and 50 miles north to south, it offers an unparalleled area to practice desert navigation. The park is framed by many rugged mountain ranges and has over 500 miles of primitive jeep and paved roads, with varied terrain that includes routes up rocky hills, through deep soft sand and wash beds, and steep climbs.
