9 AUGUST 2014:<\/strong> After a full day of trails we made it to the start of the brand new “Topless for Tatas Trail” that was cut by volunteers at Rausch Creek<\/a> over the summer specifically for this event. The trail is marked with a donated sign, and sports pink ribbons around the trees representing survivors. Event founder, Chantelle Kern hopes that drivers will be reminded of the struggles faced by those fighting to overcome cancer as they make their way over the trail’s obstacles.

9 AUGUST 2014:<\/strong> A great turn out this morning for the 6th Annual Topless for Tatas<\/a> charity wheeling event. Jeeps of all shapes and sizes (and not only Jeeps) lined up in the parking lot under a welcome blue sky to begin a day of fun on the trail while raising awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

8 AUGUST 2014:<\/strong> The 6th Annual Topless for Tatas<\/a> charity wheeling event got started with a vendor exhibit and registration today. This year there will be 500 Jeeps participating, and for the first time the event has added a day for participants to enjoy just checking out the product lines and show rigs. Genright<\/a>, Quadtratec<\/a>, Terraflex<\/a> and Poison Spyder<\/a> were just a few of the big names that came out to support the event and help raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Teaming Up with the “Do Good as You Go” Folks in the Sahara this Fall<\/h5>\n

It’s “official” we will be working together in the Sahara to connect communities and volunteers willing to use their professional skills to “do good as they go” …<\/strong><\/h6>\n

1 AUGUST 2014:<\/strong> Very glad to announce that we’ll be teaming up with the “Do Good as You Go” people at The Muskoka Foundation<\/a> for some outreach to communities in the Sahara. The organization works to connect travelers with local communities as volunteers and is hoping to spread their program to include more partners in north Africa. Muskoka volunteers are seasoned professionals such as doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs and consultants who share their skills and knowledge across a portfolio of workshops and programs. Starting this fall, we will be reaching out to NGOs and associations in Morocco and Mauritania to see how we can “do good” together…

TFT brings together off-roaders from all over to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Last year 585 vehicles participated, raising over $26,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation….

\nUSnomads will at Overland Expo East<\/a>, in Ashville, NC, October 3-5, teaching a series of classes as part of the event’s “Overland Experience” program. Overland Expo is the world’s most unique event for do-it-yourself adventure travel enthusiasts, with hundreds of session-hours of classes for 4-wheel-drive and adventure motorcycling, inspirational programs, the Overland Film Festival, roundtable discussions, demonstrations, food, and a large expo featuring over 150 vendors of adventure travel equipment, camping gear, bikes, vehicles, and services.

TEAM 171 PRESENTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nUSnomads, c’est l’histoire d’une amiti\u00e9 de plus de 20 ans, qui s’est construite \u00e0 travers le temps, les cultures, les exp\u00e9riences de la vie et des voyages. Seule l’union de deux caract\u00e8res forts et respectueux l’un de l’autre explique que nous soyons arriv\u00e9es \u00e0 nos fins dans chacun de nos d\u00e9fis.

\nCeci est notre premi\u00e8re participation au Rallye des gazelles et nous ne sommes pas des professionels, mais JoMarie a une certaine exp\u00e9rience de l’Afrique et des situations d’urgence. D’autre part, elle s’est totalement investie dans la pr\u00e9paration de cette course et Isabelle s’est r\u00e9cemment mise \u00e0 la navigation.

\nLe Rallye des gazelles dans le d\u00e9sert marocain sera le th\u00e9\u00e2tre d’une nouvelle \u00e9preuve pour nous : une Jeep, une boussole, une carte et tout le pouvoir de notre volont\u00e9 d’y parvenir fera le reste.

\nCe d\u00e9fi sportif s’inscrit dans un projet humain plus large, celui de traverser le d\u00e9sert du Sahara d’Ouest en Est dans l’espoir d’accompagner les \u00e9quipes d’ONG dans leurs micro-projets d’aide aux peuplades nomades locales. JoMarie en produira un film documentaire qui donnera \u00e0 mieux connaitre les hommes de cette partie du monde.

\nL’\u00e9quipe 171 prendra fi\u00e8rement son envol le 15 mars 2014 avec toutes les autres participantes ! Et que les meilleures gagnent !
