The first Orienteering Meet of the Spring\u2026<\/strong><\/h6>\n

26 April 2025:<\/strong> A wet and chilly morning for the first Orienteering event this spring at Sunken Meadow State Park. There was an early morning practice training prior to the actual event start, and I felt a little bit rusty when it came to figuring out distances without an “odometer” though I did fine on the easy CPs primarily because the maps had a lot of clearly defined locations that could be used as “handrails”\u2026<\/p>\n

20 April 2025:<\/strong> How fun to see this little bunny showing up in the backyard on Easter Day. I think she was bringing me a nice “welcome home” from the local wildlife. Was a beautiful day and I did some grilling to make a special holiday meal to celebrate\u2026<\/p>\n

COMING UP SOON:<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nUSnomads.org is very proud to be presenting the fourth edition of the Nomad Overland Virtual Adventure Rally<\/a> in 2025. This is a unique kind of rally experience — a ten week event that participants can do from anywhere within the continental U.S.A. Competitors design their own routes as part of the rally, then drive it in a points-based online competition that includes optional activity tasks, quests and weekly challenges. The 2025 rally will run from 2 June – 10 August and is open to any driver within the United States who has an off-road capable vehicle — stock or modified. Registration for 2025 is currently open. \nTaking part in a month-long workshop that combines photography with mindfulness to enhance our capacities for observation and re-energize creativity. The workshop is about slowing down, connecting with the present moment and developing visual perception, with the goal of helping participants to explore reality from a deeper, more conscious gaze\u2026

\nAn overland journey around Vermont with some interesting exploration of the varied ecosystems around the state as well as a deeper dive into history and culture\u2026

\nHeading to Brattleboro Vermont for the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center’s Beaver Camp — a weekend of learning and exploring with the center’s experts. Classroom sessions include: Beavers and Healthy Streamscapes, Beaver Biology 101 and Beaver\/Human Conflicts and Solutions. Plus a Streamtable Demonstration and a hands on installation of a “Beaver Deceiver” flow device. Participants will also take field trips to a variety of beaver sites as they learn to identify the signs of beaver activity and assess habitat\u2026
