The JL has retained a body-on-frame construction and solid axles. The JL four-door has grown by 3.5 inches and is roughly 200 pounds lighter than the JK. Overhangs increase significantly with the new model having 29.2 and 40.8 inches front and rear. The Rubicon features the most capable off-road equipment, including the Dana 44 M210 axle in the front, and Dana 44 M220 axle in the rear. The JL Rubicon edition has a ground clearance of 10.8 inches and a water fording depth of 30 inches.
