Navigating the small river with map and compass to find the hidden &#8220;controls&#8221; within islands of weeds and twisting inlets was more challenging then it seemed at first &#8212; particularly as it was hard to read the map and paddle at the same time, resulting in a lot of &#8220;drifting&#8221; into the masses of weeds that create the river&#8217;s labyrinths.
